PolySlab

PolySlab started as a concept — a lightweight recycled plastic alternative to the heavy concrete slabs tradespeople had been using for decades. The concrete slab was the default, not because it was good, but because nothing else existed.

The engagement started before there was a product in market. Working from the earliest stages of commercialisation through to national distribution, PolySlab became a recognised name across HVAC, refrigeration, mining, plumbing, and construction. The business was taken through to exit — the full arc, from pre-revenue to commercial outcome for the founders.

The clearest proof is that it outlived the engagement. The range is still ranged today under RectorSeal Australia and still sold through Reece, Actrol and the refrigeration wholesale network, years after the exit.

HVAC Chemical Range / Actrol

Refrigeration Technologies' Viper range held 100% of the HVAC cleaning chemical category in Actrol, Australia's leading refrigeration and HVAC trade distributor. It had the shelf, the brand recognition, and the entrenched trade relationships.

The RectorSeal HVAC cleaning chemical range was launched as a direct challenger across the full category — not a single SKU. By entering with a complete range, competitive pricing, and a clear technical story for tradespeople, the Viper range was de-shelved across 56% of the category in a single move. That is not a pilot. That is winning more than half the shelf in one engagement.

Tomson Valves & Trays

Reece is Australia's largest plumbing trade outlet. When they put their name on a product, that product has to perform. They do not give that trust lightly.

The Tomson valve and tray range was designed, engineered, and manufactured under white label on behalf of Reece, carrying their brand into their own distribution network. This is not a supplier relationship — it is a manufacturer trusted enough by a national distributor to build product under their name. The range was launched into the Reece network and distributed nationally through the plumbing trade channel. The leak protection valve is certified to WMTS-476:2016 as a leak protection device under AS/NZS 3500.4:2018, with Reece hosting the installation documentation in their own asset library.

CAMO Block

This one exists because of the TuffBlock deal, not in spite of it.

The Lowe's exclusive locked TuffBlock out of Home Depot. Rather than leave half the US big box market on the table or break faith with Lowe's, we engineered a way in: a separate product, a different design solving the same job at least as well, built for and branded to a partner who could carry it through the other door.

National Nail is one of the United States' leading construction fastener companies, behind the CAMO brand, a well-recognised name in the US deck building market. They needed a heavy-duty deck block foundation system to complement their fastener range. We had the manufacturing, the category knowledge and a reason to build it.

The CAMO Block was designed and manufactured to their specification, under their brand. Around 2lb against roughly 40lb for a concrete block, rated to 1,800 PSI, moulded from recycled polyolefin that will not chip or crack in the cold, and carrying a 30-year limited warranty. It launched in July 2023 into the National Nail dealer network, Home Depot and Amazon US.

Net result: one manufacturer, two distinct products, both national US big box chains covered, and neither retailer's exclusivity compromised. That is what channel strategy looks like when the constraint is treated as a design brief rather than a dead end.

TuffBlock

TuffBlock is a lightweight instant foundation system for decks and structures, replacing concrete footings with a polymer block that installs in minutes. The commercial challenge was not the product — it was getting onto the shelf on two continents at the same time.

TuffBlock was launched simultaneously into the Australian and US markets. In Australia, listed at Bunnings. In the United States, ranged as a Lowe's exclusive, nationwide, in store and online. An exclusive is harder to win than a shared listing and worth more when you get it: the retailer commits shelf and promotion because nobody else can undercut them on the line. Running that alongside a domestic Bunnings launch required coordinated channel strategy and retailer-specific ranging on a tight timeline.

An exclusive also cuts the other way. Winning Lowe's meant Home Depot, the largest home improvement retailer in the country, was closed to TuffBlock for as long as the deal stood. Half the US big box market, locked out by our own win. What we did about that is the CAMO Block story below.

The product had to earn the shelf on its specification as well as its story: 1,700lb rated per block and tested well beyond it, ICC certified against the IBC and IRC codes American building inspectors work to, and backed by a 25-year warranty. Without the code certification there is no US retail conversation at all.

Ford F-150 Lightning / AUSEV

The Ford F-150 Lightning is the electric version of America's best-selling truck. AUSEV was established to bring it to Australia, targeting B2B fleet and industrial buyers — mining, resources, and commercial operators who needed a capable electric work vehicle before the broader market had caught up.

The Australian EV infrastructure in the ute and pickup segment did not exist. The category did not have a name. The entire commercial go-to-market had to be built from a blank page, including buyer targeting, commercial positioning, and fleet channel development for a vehicle category Australia had not seen.

AUSEV is no longer operating. The broader EV pickup market in Australia has since developed, with multiple manufacturers now competing in the space. Being first in a market before it is ready is a harder chapter to write than arriving when demand already exists. It is also the more instructive one.
